english dating sims psp Friendship has been heavy on my heart lately. When my husband and I moved from Arizona to the Big Island we knew no one. Being that we left our friend base in Arizona and started without any friends here, I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship. What does a true friend look like? What does friendship look like at this stage of my life? How can I be a good friend to my other twenty-something friends?
http://highschool.isq.edu.mx/cr45/3846/assets/js/1852 Friendship in your late twenties is not the same as it was in high school or college – a simple fact that honestly took me too long to realize. I was confused why so much felt so different as I attempted to develop new friendships and to maintain the ones I had. I didn’t know what to expect of friendships at this stage of my life was off. Here’s what I’m learning about friendships in my late twenties:
rencontres 18 gay matchmaking melbourne We don’t see each other as much. Life at this age is busy. Most of us have full-time jobs, some of us have kids and are in a serious relationship. If we aren’t working we are attending to the responsibilities that come along with being an adult and also trying to fit in taking care of ourselves, our families and our health. Our friends aren’t as accessible as they once were when we had classes together or lived together, and could see them throughout our day-to-day. And as we’ve grown up and the responsibilities of our lives have come to sometimes exhaust us, making plans can sound exhausting, honestly. We are tired and when we have a free day, sometimes we don’t want to make any plans. I’m making us sound reallyold…but it’s the truth, isn’t it? Either way, our real friendships don’t waver because of this and when we see each other we can pick up right where we left off.
recherche site de rencontre martinique We aren’t in constant communication. Remember in high school and college when you would text your friends all day long? How did we have so much to talk about! In your late twenties, this is no longer a thing. You text to make plans, say happy birthday and send a quick important update. But long conversations over text are a thing of the past. You save it for when you see each other.
conocer chicas londres We can have honest conversations. I think a sign of a solid friendship is when you can talk honestly with each other, even if you disagree. You can say how something makes you really feel and your friend will appreciate you for being honest. They respect your thoughts, feelings and beliefs and you respect theirs, even if they aren’t the same. And your friendship is stronger because of it.
For me, some of the changes that have come with friendships in my late twenties were hard for me to accept. I miss the closeness I felt with friends when I was younger and had more free time. I’ve realized that in order to have great friendships now takes a good amount of effort and you have to find friendships your willing to work for. I’m starting to look at my friendships a little differently now and I’m grateful for the handful of good friendships that have made it through my twenties.
What major differences do you notice between your friendships then and now?
